  13. Fort Collins, Colorado - December 1, 1993 - Thoughtful Software today
  14. announced a new version of its HyperSense multi-purpose authoring
  15. software for creating multimedia documents and applications, such as
  16. corporate training programs, medical imaging databases, interactive
  17. tutorials, and flexible personal databases.  Highlights of this
  18. release include support for both Intel and Motorola versions of
  19. NEXTSTEP, new user interface objects, enhanced on-line documentation
  20. and a customizable tool palette.

  22. HyperSense is a versatile and easy-to-use tool featuring a rich
  23. document architecture and an easily understood scripting language.
  24. With HyperCard compatibility, users have the ability to import and
  25. modify "stackware" developed on the Macintosh.  HyperSense goes
  26. beyond the capabilities of HyperCard and other authoring
  27. environments, offering many innovative new features.  Multiple layers
  28. of objects on each page, drag-and-drop document construction, and
  29. direct support for accessing the serial ports are just a few of the
  30. advanced capabilities included in the program.

  32. HyperSense has been well received by early adopters, who have found
  33. its ease of use and powerful scripting capabilities make it
  34. well-suited to a variety of tasks.  "I must say that of all the
  35. authoring packages we've looked at for the NeXT,  HyperSense really
  36. comes out far ahead of the rest," commented Celia Duffy of Glasgow
  37. University Music Department. "We're really impressed with it."
  38. The SenseTalk scripting language gives users the ability to add
  39. interactivity to documents without learning a complex programming
  40. language.  SenseTalk is very English like, making scripts easy to
  41. read and write.  "I'm so glad to have a hypermedia application that I
  42. can use to develop without programming," said Dr. Judith Graves, who
  43. used HyperSense to developa multimedia database of nurse scholars
  44. for the International Library of Nursing.  Advanced users and
  45. programmers will find SenseTalk to be a full-featured and powerful
  46. language, which can be extended with user-written commands and
  47. functions.

  49. HyperSense is currently shipping in a pre-release version, which is
  50. offered at an introductory price of $299.  This price is good until
  51. version 1.0 ships, at which time the price will be $499.  Purchasers
  52. of the pre-release version will receive HyperSense 1.0, complete with
  53. printed documentation when it ships, and are entitled to any other
  54. upgrades released within one year.  Educational and quantity
  55. discounts are available.
